More shocks and stunning goals in the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup – where were you when they happened?

It is official, the reigning European and World Cup Champions, Spain, have been knocked out of the World Cup.

So have Italy, 2006 World Cup Champions, and England.

Where were you when these historic moments unfolded?

Italy vs Costa Rica [0-1]

Costa Rica continued to surprise and impress. Ranked No. 28, it stunned the world when it felled 2006 World Cup winners Italy.
Bryan Ruiz headed in the winner from the right side of the six-yard box, from a delightful cross by Júnior Díaz, to break the hearts of Azzurri fans. Costa Rica drew its last game against England to further surprise the world by topping the group!

Germany vs Ghana [2-2]

After a strong showing in a 4-0 win against Portugal, the German giants fell short against a strong Ghana team. André Ayew and Asamoah Gyan helped Ghana climb back after trailing 1-0 to Germany for the most of the first half.

Miroslav Klose saved Germany from embarrassing defeat and matched Brazilian Ronaldo’s World Cup scoring record with a cracking shot in the 71st minute that went into the bottom right.

France vs Switzerland [5-2]

One of the strong teams that has yet to disappoint, Les Bleus trampled over minnows Switzerland in an easy 5-2 win.

The goal-scorers for France were Giroud, Matuidi, Valbuena, Benzema and Sissoko.

USA vs Portugal [2-2]

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal came up short against a frankly ordinary USA team. Varela (Portugal) saved his team with a header from the centre of the box, down to the bottom right hand corner, in the 95th minute.

The last-minute equaliser was assisted by Cristiano Ronaldo following a counter attack.

In the closing matches of the group stage, Group G battles for a place in the last 16. Germany and USA lead the race to qualify, with 4 points each.

Ghana vs Portugal, 27 Jun

Both teams are desperate for a win to give them any chance of progressing. The winner will claim 4 precious points, which will equal the loser from USA vs Germany.

Will Ronaldo’s Portugal have the luck they need to scrape through into the next stage?

USA vs Germany, 27 Jun

The leaders of the pack go head to head as the winner of this match will secure a place in the next round, while the loser’s fate may be left to goal difference.

Will USA overcome the German onslaught?

Stay tuned to the World Cup so you don’t miss out on more epic moments.
